Communications services companies fell as investors ditched their riskiest stock holdings.

Hollywood studios and striking writers have tentatively reached an agreement that would let studios keep the right to train artificial-intelligence solutions based on what writers produce, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Meanwhile, writers would get a guarantee of credit and compensation for their script work even if the studios also use AI tools for them.

Netflix has appealed its loss to Broadcom in a German patent dispute related to high-efficiency video coding.

Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said she would push to restore utility-like “net neutrality” regulations on America’s internet service providers.
