GAM Holding has appointed Elmar Zumbuehl as its new group chief executive officer with immediate effect, the Swiss asset manager said Monday.
Zumbuehl joined GAM in 2010 and most recently was global chief risk officer and group management board member. Prior to that, Zumbuehl held senior roles at Julius Baer for ten years, including at its Asset Management business, the company said.
GAM shareholders last week elected a new board at an extraordinary general meeting. The company said in August that its former board members would stand down once new directors were elected at the meeting, following an agreement with an investor group formed by NewGAMe–controlled by an entity owned by French telecommunications billionaire Xavier Niel’s personal holding company–and Bruellan. NewGAMe said at the time it planned to choose its candidate to replace former CEO Peter Sanderson.
