President Joe Biden on Monday hit back at Donald Trump, two days after the former president revived calls to eliminate the Affordable Care Act if he returns to the White House.

Trump on Saturday posted on his social-media platform, Truth Social: “The cost of Obamacare is out of control, plus, it’s not good Healthcare. I’m seriously looking at alternatives.”

Biden, speaking at an event on strengthening supply chains, said that “my predecessor” is again calling for cuts that could “rip away health insurance for tens of millions of Americans.”

“But guess what? We won’t let these things happen,” the president said.

Biden’s re-election campaign also blasted Trump before the president personally weighed in. “40 million people — more than 1 in 10 Americans — have health insurance today because of the Affordable Care Act and Donald Trump just said he would try to rip it away if he returns to power,” spokesman Ammar Moussa said.

Trump made strides toward repealing the Affordable Care Act when he was in office, Moussa added, “and we should take him at his word that he’ll try to do it again.”

Trump is the overwhelming favorite to win the GOP presidential nomination, according to national polls.
